Hoffman Estates, IL • April 22, 2019 – The Daily Herald Business Ledger Annual Awards for Business Excellence (AABE) highlight successful suburban businesses and organizations and honor the people who make them successful. Plum Grove is pleased to announce that the organization was selected to receive this honor in the category of Family Businesses.
The AABEs, given for business achievement, growth and community involvement, are presented to outstanding businesses and non-profit organizations with a significant presence in the suburban circulation area of the Daily Herald Business Ledger.

Over time, many employees have worked alongside their children, spouses and extended family at Plum Grove, and several family connections still work together at Plum Grove today. We have celebrated life events and weathered through losses together in our rich history.
Most recently, Kara Lineal joined her father, Peter Lineal, Founder, in the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Peter Lineal first received the keys to his brand new print shop on December 1st, 1980, the day Kara was born. In 2018, with a 16-year career in retail marketing and e-commerce, Kara decided to join the family business just a few months after the birth of her first child.
Growth & Success
In 2018, Plum Growth launched its “Vision 2021” – an aggressive growth plan intended to triple the size of the business within three years. The plan includes strategic investment in technology, equipment and personnel. Accomplishments thus far are included below.

- All-time record sales for the year, with 40% growth over 2017
- Invested over a half-million dollars in new equipment to increase capacity and capabilities
