Thomson Memory & Attention is the largest US neuropsychology diagnostic center specializing in attention, memory, emotions, and learning. The practice offers patient care for children, teens, adults, and seniors. The center operates out of eight Chicagoland locations and two locations in St. Paul/Minneapolis.
Thomson Memory & Attention partnered with Plum Grove to rebrand the organization and grow the business with an omnichannel brand marketing strategy.
Priding itself on patient-centered care, Thomson Memory & Attention built a solid reputation for memory testing and evaluations for children, adults and seniors. The diagnostic center offers patient care for all ages. Formerly Thomson Memory Center, the practice sought to rebrand itself with a focus on patient care at any age.
After struggling for nearly a year with little progress on its brand and website refresh, Thomson Memory Center partnered with Plum Grove to fast-track its rebranding and grow the practice. Working with Dr. Christina Blodgett Dycus and her vision of Thomson Memory Center, the marketing strategists and creative design team at Plum Grove refreshed the logo design to more accurately reflect the care they’ve been offering to patients of all ages.
Next, Plum Grove crafted an omnichannel marketing approach to increase both brand awareness for referring doctors and patient bookings. The brand strategy included a blend of direct mail, website design, SEO, geofencing, and Google Ad campaigns.
Launched during the height of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the Thomson Memory & Attention rebrand centered around care for all stages of life. The new logo design featured opposing silhouettes to reflect the entire lifecycle of patients, from pediatric through seniors. It retained the font and colors from the original logo design for brand continuity.
The website refresh included high-quality photography to bring the practice to life online, convenient online booking capabilities, and search engine optimized educational content for patients. The new website design offered an online experience that reinforced the medical center’s reputation as a trusted, patient-centric practice.
To drive qualified traffic to the website, digital marketing tactics included geofencing and Google advertising. In addition to these efforts, Plum Grove paired traditional offline marketing efforts such as print and mail to increase brand awareness. Newly designed and printed brochures for Thomson Memory & Attention highlighted their specialty and told their brand’s story. Postcard mailings to referring providers expanded their audience and complimented digital marketing efforts.
As a result of the omnichannel marketing strategy, Thomson Memory & Attention experienced a dramatic increase in new appointment bookings – even during the pandemic. The website saw a 219% increase in traffic over the year prior and the new appointment scheduling integration had an immediate impact on new patient bookings.

We sat down with Thomson Attention and Memory founder Dr. Christine Blodgett Dycus to discuss the value that Plum Grove brings to their business.
PG: Thank you for taking time to speak with us! I’d like to start by finding out what you’ve done in that past, how that worked and what prompted you to seek our expertise?
CBD: I’ve used a marketing agency in the past that included advertising and website design. Looking for more personalized attention and being budget conscious lead me to Plum Grove Inc. My mother as the executive director of the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce worked with Peter (Plum Grove’s founder and CEO) for nearly two decades and recommended them to me. I sought them out for their printing expertise only to find they offered so much more. Plum Grove’s 40 years of experience in the print and marketing field, the knowledge their experts bring to the table and their trustworthiness were all big selling points for me. And I can’t be happier, my business has done better than ever and continues to grow.
PG: What was your goal with each service Plum Grove provided (below) and were you happy with the results. How did those services help grow your business?
CBD: Because Plum Grove is a “one-stop-shop,” they were able to offer me more cohesive messaging that would have been a logistical nightmare with other agencies. I think this really helped that there was one consistent message across the board. One of the issues we were experiencing was a lack of awareness around our pediatric patients. The logo and website redesign really increased the awareness and bookings of our attention and pediatric testing.
One thing I wasn’t sure of was the Geofencing. But when I saw digital ad transforming from our old logo to the new logo, I loved it. Peter and Kara suggested we couple the geofencing campaign with a direct mail campaign and they worked so well together. We saw an immediate response and uptick of our business. Coupled with direct mail postcards, a new website and search engine optimization, the efforts were dramatic, especially considering they were launched during a pandemic.
PG: What would you estimate that working with Plum Grove has saved you in terms of man hours, headaches, learning curves, etc. as compared to attempting to tackle these projects in-house?
CBD: I attempted and worked on this rebrand for nearly one year without any success before reaching out to Plum Grove. I lost out on one year of growth. Plum grove was able to turn that set back around, even during the pandemic. It’s just astonishing. This business is very scalable.
PG: Having worked with other agencies in the past, how would you describe working with Plum Grove?
- Responsiveness: Everyone from management on down have been so responsive and willing to work with me on any issue.
- Cost: Very reasonably priced. It would be very difficult to find pricing for all the varied services Plum Grove offers.

- Speed: There has always been a proposed timeline for any project and those projects have been delivered on time, even during a pandemic. Turn around for simple things to difficult tasks have been exceptional compared to other agencies I’ve worked with in the past.

PG: How would you describe the quality of the finished product(s) overall? In what ways do they enhance your brand?
CBD: Beautifully finished pieces. I’ve been very pleased with the finished products. From the website and geofencing to the printed pieces . Plum Grove is very responsive and executes these ideas beautifully. Plum Grove listens to my ideas and expands on them to help grow my business.
PG: How have these initiatives impacted your sales and marketing goals?
CBD: The multi-targeted approach from Plum Grove makes it difficult to pin-point, but this approach has drastically increased bookings, even during the pandemic. Over the next six months to one year, we will hire five new doctors and open two new clinics. Plum Grove will be handling the multi-pronged approach to ensure that the marketing is seamless and flawless. Plum Grove will be with us on this journey going forward!
